Ages: 8-13 Days: 3-4 Requirements: Completed Ignite
We're not saying your kids will be fully-fledged AR experts by the end of this camp, but they'll be well on their way!
Thinking outside the box is a key skill programmers need and a great life skill in general. This camp will teach your children to be creative and to solve problems.
Drop your kids off at Code Camp from 8:30am, just look for the camp managers in the orange shirts waiting at the camp!
We start with a live demo to show kid’s the possibilities of AR, covering the basics of the technology and how it can be used (e.g. on phones, tablets or headsets)
10:45am - 11:15am
Some time for the kids to be in the playground, play with their new friends and have a bite to eat.
We're big fans of outdoor fun too! Depending on the venue we'll have some handball and soccer games, or make use of other school equipment (skipping ropes, balls etc.).
Now the kids bring their imagination to life! We extend our code with algorithms & computational thinking to create a immersive & believable AR experience!
3:30pm - 4:00pm
The hardest part of the afternoon session is telling the kids they need to stop coding and go home!

Code Camp Teacher
Jesse is the Head of STEM at Mount Sinai College, and one of the most incredibly passionate and brilliant primary school educators you will ever meet. Jesse is also working with us at Code Camp HQ to inspire our hundreds of teachers around the country.
A Computer Science student at Queensland’s University of Technology, Mary spends each uni holidays inspiring and teaching Code Camp students. In Mary words, she ‘loves fostering students' interest in all things tech!’
That all depends on the camp location. Some of our partnering venues are able to provide our students with the use of their computers/ iPads for the duration of camp. For those who cannot, you’ll have the option during the enrolment steps to provide your own device or hire one of ours. Either way, you’ll be able to access your child’s Code Camp creation from home after camp.
Class sizes vary depending upon enrolments at each school, but regardless of the class size we maintain incredibly strong teacher to student ratios so all children get the attention and support they need. There are usually 15 to 25 children per class with a lead teacher and 1 or 2 teaching assistants depending on class size.
Our most advanced camps are aimed for children up to age 13. Unfortunately we don’t currently cater for children aged 14 and above but if you have any questions regarding their passion for coding, send us a message and we’ll be more than happy to point you in the right direction.
Blast AR is a brand new camp which is perfect for children who have attended Ignite, Blast 2D or Blast 3D.
